DP 601 – Implementing a Lakehouse with Microsoft Fabric course is designed for data professionals who are familiar with data modeling, extraction, and analytics.

It is designed for professionals who are interested in gaining knowledge about Lakehouse architecture, the Microsoft Fabric platform, and how to enable end-to-end analytics using these technologies.

 

While there are no required prerequisites for taking this course, it is recommended that students have:

  • Basic understanding of data concepts and familiarity with data processing and storage architectures
  • Fundamental knowledge of cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Databricks.
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Some exposure to programming, preferably in Python or Scala, as these are commonly used with Apache Spark.
  • An understanding of data ingestion, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipelines.
  • Eagerness to learn new concepts and the ability to follow technical instructions.

  • Create and manage delta tables using Spark
  • Use Spark to query and transform data in delta tables
  • Use delta tables with Spark structured streaming

Module 3: Ingest data with Dataflows (Gen2) in Microsoft Fabric

  • Describe Dataflow capabilities in Microsoft Fabric
  • Create Dataflow solutions to ingest and transform data
  • Include a Dataflow in a pipeline
  • Describe pipeline capabilities in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Use the Copy Data activity in a pipeline.
  • Create pipelines based on predefined templates.
