Course Description

The Data Privacy Fundamentals Course will provide learners with principles of data and technology that frame and define Data Privacy and protection principles. Learners will gain insight into the importance of Data Privacy and the integral role of Data Privacy Professionals .The interactive, mentor-guided format will provide a dynamic learning experience where users can explore foundational Data Privacy principles, Data Privacy Frameworks, Privacy Posture Assessments and Privacy by design.

  • Legitimate Processing Criteria: Consent, contractual necessity, legal obligation, vital interests and public interest, legitimate interests, special categories of processing
  • Information Provision Obligations: Transparency principle, privacy notices, layered notices
  • Data Subject Rights: Subject access, rectification, erasure or blocking of data, right to object, automated individual decisions

Data Privacy Compliance Requirements

  • International Data Transfers: Rationale for prohibition, safe jurisdictions, Safe Harbor Concept, model contracts and Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs)
  • Marketing Activities: Telemarketing, direct marketing, online behavioural targeting and use of web cookies
